Or did. The big place where I bought mine has dropped the filters, so I can not search by display size. I can sort by price, lowest first, and then I find the small sizes. I see two 23", two 27", on LG. On Media Mark I find a section for «up to 27"» that boasts 78 articles. Then the first one is 42". (In ~2008) I had a TV dongle in my Acer Aspire One 'netbook', which had a whopping 8.9" display. We had to sit way back, in order not to develop neck pain from all the left/right turning!

(They weren't own brand.) Never too successful - partly because they drew too much power relative to their size, so difficult to keep going on batteries, but mainly because they were no less deaf - OK, maybe a _little_ less - than home sets, and thus needed connecting to a big aerial, which made their use as camping/portable sets pretty pointless. AFAIK you can still get them online. They also suffer from the same as the TV sticks - getting things like subtitles, EPG, AD, etc. just wasn't available, LCNs (channel numbers) didn't work properly, and they even tended to use half-resolution or similar. but the signal need was/is the main killer. -- J. The 215MHz was when that channel was in the VHF band, it's moved up into UHF now (the contents of a scan now are 400 to below 600 or so). If they haven't already, the VHF band will be sold off. As otherwise, the stations do not move band, without an incentive (broadcast license wise) to do so. I haven't checked VLC lately, to see if they ever finished the direct tuner code on Windows. And, similar to the tuner card firmware not being in Linux, the Hauppauge Windows driver is not in catalog.update.microsoft.com . Both sides are treated similarly, in terms of keeping IP at their head office :-) They don't like to stage their stuff. You use the CD in the white box kit for the tuner, for your driver. The WinTV viewing software, is a separate purchase, when you go with a white box kit. That's why, when buying even cheap USB tuners, you read the reviews to discover what evil awaits in the software that comes with it. Invariably it's "software is awful", when you read the reviews. It's hard to find a product that doesn't have reviews like that. The WinTV software, when it wants to share live broadcasts with a second computer, it uses Adobe Flash for the interface standard. And you know how many years ago that was discontinued. It's just a whole lot of fun. If you want a test of your skillz, try setting up MythTV, with the front end on one computer, and the back end on a second computer. It's a lot simpler if setting both ends on the same computer, and keeping the tuner in your daily driver. Paul

Mine can record, as times you can set, playback, sometimes I record stuff mosty music, or sciencewprograms an then later copy it to teh 4 TB harddisc also connected to teh big Samsung TV. But no way For Internet at home and away I use a Huawei 4G USB stick, now plugged into this Raspberry Pi4 8Gb I am posting this from, when away I can put it in my Samsung laptop. Fiber on the road ? no. The rest here is satellite. One big advantage of satellite is that the 'fiber guys' will determine what you can see (they get much from satellite but pick the channels they forward). I can get stations from all over the world and viewpoints from all over the world via satellite.

I spent several years using MythTV, but its rate of progress was slow, now I switched to TVheadend and it seems pretty complete, just choose your tuners wisely, don't buy one that has out-of-tree drivers, or you'll be having to keep them tweaked for later kernels ... I've been very impressed with a combined DVB-T2/S2/C2 card from Hauppauge (sp?)

Pluto IS 'commercial' - there ARE 'commercials' - but then I'm used to that. No probs so long as I don't need a subscription. Do THOSE and then there will be an unending bombardment of ads and spyware.
