I just meant that it could be tricky finding drivers for a Dell with generic Windows, because Dell likes to make their own driver installers, based on PC model rather than the hardware. So, for example, if you need an audio driver for an XPS 2000 (if that exists) then you go to Dell and download a Dell installer that gives no indication of what audio chip you have.
