My current Windows 10 Keepass Password Safe is version 2.46 from
https://keepass.info/ 

I don't want to lose data so I want to line up my ducks (yes, I'll make
copies) but what I want to ask here is if anyone has MERGED multiple
Keepass databases (kdbx) between phones and computers on Windows before?

How did you do merge the kdbx databases from all your computing devices?

I have done it across three computers, but in Linux. I assume the 
procedure is the same in Windows. I have version KeePassXC 2.6.6

I just upgraded to Keepass Password Safe 2.52 (64-bit) and looked about.
There is a Keepass "File:Import" menu item, and a "File:Export" menu too.

But I haven't seen an explicit "merge databases" option in Keepass' GUI.

In "File:Synchronize:Synchronize File" there's a browser that might be what
I need (but I'm not sure what "synchronize" means with respect to merge)
given there is also a Keepass "Tools:Database Tools:Delete Duplicate
Entries" which wouldn't be needed if the synchronize option did a proper
intelligent merge.

In Keepass "Tools:Database Tools:Database Maintenance" I have no plugins.
Maybe there is a Keepass plugin for merging databases & then cleaning up?
I don't even know where Keepass plugins would be found. Do you?

I use Enpass as my general password for web sites manager, but I also
use Keypass for two reasons: as a backup to Enpass, and as a place to
save passwords that are not for web sites.

I didn't know there were Keypass plugins, but I just went to that site
and noticed "Integration & Transfer," especially "KeeForm 1.x 2.x
Opens websites and fills in the login data automatically."

Does anyone here use that or any of the others in that list? How does
that and others there compare with Enpass or other password managers?

Also, are there any other Keypass plugins that are especially
recommended?

Thanks! I didn't know they were there!
Unfortunately, the word "merge" doesn't show up once in any of them.
Maybe "synchronize" is the word they use to merge databases gracefully?

I didn't "create" multiple databases, so much as use them for years.
Over time, they get out of sync with each other, ever so slightly.

I just want to sync them up again (which I've been calling "merge").

My use model is to maintain the master keepass db on the desktop.
It's almost always a copy to all the other devices, including phones.

Admittedly the copy remains as a copy for years as it's rarely modified.
But after about three to five years, it's time to merge the databases.

I consider it foolish to put _any_ private data on the Internet if I don't
have to, even as a kdbx is expected to be "supposedly" completely securely
encrypted (this concept extends to all private data, including Veracrypt).

the Internet with those who have the means to access it if they wish to.

Mine stays local.

Thank you for mentioning that KeepassXC has a "Merge" command in its
"Database" menu. That "merge" command alone means I'll be using the
keepassXC on Windows from now on!

I think so, but I have not tested that. It should be compatible if they 
are the KeePassXC variant.

The way I do it is, first run the merge on computer A from B, and then B 
from A. That is, I run it on both computers.

On computer A the file I name KeepPassComputerA.kdbx, and on B computer 
it is KeepPassComputerB.kdbx

Then you either share the directory via network, or copy the file over 
from the other computers, and run merge from them, one by one. And you 
repeat on every computer, both directions.

And possibly, you have to copy the files one more time and repeat the 
operation - not sure. Maybe someone can design a better strategy ;-)

Merge is only done, AFAIK, on one computer from another, one direction 
only.

A bit pedestrian, but I'm not putting my password file on internet.

In Linux we can execute the program remotely, via "ssh -X ...". Or the 
directory of the remote computer can be imported (shared) over the 
network, and thus tell the local program to access the remote file (this 
method should also be doable in Windows).

If you ask if you can set some kind of server service with keepass??, I 
am not aware of it.

Does that strike you as a security issue? If you have all of your 
passwords in a file which has been generated by Keepassxxx, what is to 
assure that when your machine connects to the internet that a crooked 
person cannot access Keepassxxx from their remote computer.  I would 
guess that Keepassxxx should be heavily password protected, then there 
is the 'file' with all of your passwords, with a unique extension 
identifier. To be safe, that 'file' should be encrypted behind a 
password. The more I look at this the more I am convinced that your 
finances or good ideas should not be on a computer that is connected to 
the internet.

The KeepassXC (cross platform) FAQ implies this isn't possible since they
don't use plugins and they don't access remote sharing sites on purpose.

Since my finances are all on Quicken, and I update Quicken's data
about them on the Internet multiple times a day, it has to be
connected to the Internet.
