Well of course! That BFG 8800GTX was a GREAT card, in its day.

Today, it's a great card for a 10 year old "former World Heavyweight
Champ"! Note to self, that means Retired! LOL! But, there was a
limit I put on myself for spending for just three items. I'd done it
the last time too, 12 years ago. And, I laid out 9 $100.00 bills for
the owner of the store I ordered my parts at. OK, I got the case too.
That was $75.00. In 2008 dollars I knew I'd done OK. so putting all
THAT thinking aside now, as it's DONE, the RYZEN 7 will be here Tuesday,
it's shipped already, man. I will be looking at the arrangement in the
machine, getting my tools ready, the space to work on it set up, and the
manual, yeah I can get that now too.
That's all good info, Spamster, thanks for bringing that up. Lots of
folks won't realize that right away. I knew it COULD be an issue. Then
too, the new system will handle the new generation of video cards way
better than this old motherboard. Everything changed, technology wise.
We have much better tech right now. We have moved on to 7 nanometer
scale, versus 12 nanometer for the Intel Q9550 I am running now. That
means way more transistors and stuff can be applied to the die now, and
it will run much cooler per Hertz, using less power to do even more.
Even so, the 8800GTX ought to be OK for a while. :)
EIGHT cores vs FOUR cores, plus, 16 threads more! And, its a 65 watt
device. This one I was proud to run is 95 watt. That was low for the
day. I was being 'green' it seems. ;o)
