The Republic of Ireland also; there is a Labour party and it was occasionally
in government but it was never as formidable as the German SDP. The
right-of-centre two main parties, both basically comparable to the German
CDU/CSU as the natural parties of government have, however, been relatively
high tax/high spend so post-taxation inequality of income is very limited here.

The RoI never really industrialised in the usual understanding of the word, so
that may be enough to explain a limited voting base for Labour.

It occured to me that voting dynamics in the Philippines would be interesting
on this front, and yeah, no real left/right dynamic:
