Many German words have several meanings.

But the part 'Allgemeine' ('general') is not related to the military, 
but means a feature called 'general' (in the sense of 'valid in general').

GR ist meant as a general form of SRT ('special theory of relativity'), 
which included accelerations and forces.

The term 'special' (of 'special relativity') was meant as a certain 
restriction of SRT.

SRT does not include accelerations, while GR does.
