Then it’s a fault. Lack of enough CVC in the POI sees the worst
download speeds between 8:30pm and midnight roughly.

That’s your problem.

Doesn’t matter if there is anything plugged in or not
the spur is still there, the wire to the unused sockets
which resonates at the much higher frequencys that
VDSL2 uses that adsl didn’t.

Strictly speaking you need to use a licensed cabler
to electrically disconnect all the sockets except the
one used by the modem but its very easy to do.

Worth doing but doesn’t usually case the problem that unused sockets do.
