If they can't or won't, ask them to release you from your contract and go somewhere else. If they won't release you, take it to the TIO and ask for release from your contract to be your desired outcome. Peter

Looks like your service has developed a fault. Normally when its just a lack of CVC in the POI, the upload speed isnt affected at all. You initially had 43/15 which is about right for your distance. You shouldn’t have seen the upload drop to around 10. But your initial 43/15 was with the Brisbane server and these lately are with Sydney. That’s why speedtest.myrepublic.com.au is a much better measure, the server is always the same one. And all you number are well after midnight, you should be seeing congestion then. And your ratio between upload and download is way out. It should be close to 3:1 although it can drift to a higher ratio with the longer distance from the pillar and node. Remind me what you have done about unused phone sockets and central splitters etc ? With the phone sockets it doesn’t matter if there is a phone plugged in, what matters is if its electrically connected and forms a spur. That can have a big effect on the synch speeds and the ratio. What shows in the modem itself synch speed wise ?

Lack of enough CVC in the POI sees the worst download speeds between 8:30pm and midnight roughly. >> And your ratio between upload and download is way out. >> It should be close to 3:1 although it can drift to a higher >> ratio with the longer distance from the pillar and node. >> Remind me what you have done about unused phone >> sockets and central splitters etc ? Strictly speaking you need to use a licensed cabler to electrically disconnect all the sockets except the one used by the modem but its very easy to do. > have removed surge protector I had on the line Worth doing but doesn’t usually case the problem that unused sockets do. >> What shows in the modem itself synch speed wise ? >

PS I was in the electrical game, probably why I left the lines going everywhere,I will probably reconnect it all from the phone out on the modem when I get a tuit(you know the bootmaker has the worst boots, the plumber the worst plumbing etc) > >> have removed surge protector I had on the line. > > Worth doing but doesn’t usually case the problem that unused sockets do. > >>> What shows in the modem itself synch speed wise Any way I just had a session with myrepublic with the result that I now have no NBN(doing this through phone hotspot)seems it may be faulty line. After he did factory reset it wont connect to server and with the modem completely off line the testing still shows unstable. So now have to wait for NBN tech, and so no catch up tv for a while,(3 gb on phone wont get me far)

You can sometimes see a spur not resonate as badly with something plugged into the now unused phone socket. > and for an experiment I just now ran cable from first point of entry to > modem And what happened to the synch rates show on the modem web page when you did that ? That’s much better measure of what is happening cabling wise than any speedtest results. And the speedtests need to be done with a wired connection, not over wifi. Wifi just adds another variable. >> Strictly speaking you need to use a licensed cabler >> to electrically disconnect all the sockets except the >> one used by the modem but its very easy to do. > PS I was in the electrical game, probably why I left the lines going > everywhere,I will probably reconnect it all from the phone out on the > modem when I get a tuit I just ran a line to the PoC which quite literally just lies in the floor under the junk in the house. Proper phone cable. Did that way back in the adsl days and still use it now. Like your most recent test electrically. > (you know the bootmaker has the worst boots, the plumber the worst plumbing > etc) >>> have removed surge protector I had on the line. >> Worth doing but doesn’t usually case the problem that unused sockets do. >>>> What shows in the modem itself synch speed wise > Any way I just had a session with myrepublic with the result that I now > have no NBN(doing this through phone hotspot)seems it may be faulty line. > After he did factory reset it wont connect to server and with the modem > completely off line the testing still shows unstable. Testing by MR presumably you mean. > So now have to wait for NBN tech, and so no catch up tv for a while, (3 gb > on phone wont get me far) But your speedtest.myreplublic.com.au numbers were 14G which is plenty for that. Mine was fine at 8GB on my adsl2+ service.

Mine was fine at 8GB on my adsl2+ service. When he did factory reset on modem it will not reconnect through faulty line it was apparently holding on to dicky line but won't establish connection any more, any way, message from myrepublic is that NBN will fix it on or before 30th. Went to MSA on the way somewhere today and got $12.00 usb wi fi for the desk computer and that is what I am using now with phone as wifi hotspot

The modem MR supplies can do an auto fallback to that in theory. Not much use for you but handy for a business.

Yes, the wiring has been the same since I started, I just unplugged everything and connected the modem in the middle somewhere. At the moment during the testing I put a long temporary cable from point of entry to modem, when it is going again I will shorten it in a straight line in the roof. > >>> You can sometimes see a spur not resonate as badly with >>> something plugged into the now unused phone socket. >>> >>>> and for an experiment I just now ran cable from first point of entry >>>> to modem >>> >>> And what happened to the synch rates show on the modem >>> web page when you did that ? The laptop probably defaults to a much higher resolution than the phone. I use downloader software/websites which allow you to select the resolution you want. "240p" serves me fine for YouTube and the like, I haven't tried iView. I usually set a batch downloading simultaneously and watch them later. -- __ __ #_ < |\| |< _#
