I'd like to give some harddrives a catchier (and shorter) name than the present IDEDisc4 on my RiscPC, and "BootDiscSp" and "16GbDiscSp" on the customer's RiscPC that I am updating for him. Is there some clever way of doing it, maybe an alias or macro or something (I have little experience of thsee), that would avoid all sorts of niggles such as "Please insert disc BootDiscSp" from other software? Or from other agents on the network. It would be nice if apps such as Pinboard would still recognize the old drivename, without my having to manually edit its saved script. Otherwise it would take ages to remember all the applications that might have files that would need to be edited, not to mention all the scripts in !Boot. -- Jim Nagel www.archivemag.co.uk >> "from" address is genuine but will change. website has current one.
