So, some guy on SoylentNews just posted something asking how to build 
community and membership on his BBS, and I suggested posting something 
to Usenet, probably alt.bbs.lists.

Then I started reading alt.bbs.lists and came across an announcement 
about the Nexus BBS, visited their webpage, and found this jewel.  What 
a great article about what life was like at 2600 baud, and how 
/exciting/ it was.  Almost makes me want to fire up a DOS box just to 
play around with it again.
