I never worked in those divisions. I don't care what they used.

As for my job. I'm a System Architect and Project Manager. My job is all 
about collecting requirements and ensuring that we come up with the best 
solution. The operating system to be used can never be a requirements, 
as this will force the creation of a suboptimal solution. If some of the 
requirements are low cost and reliability, as is common for embedded 
systems, then Windows is not an option.

I don't know why I am trying to explain good engineering to idiots that 
wouldn't know good engineering if it came up and hit them in the face.
