I do not mind responses. Your response, for example, was fine. I think you
missed a bit of my point and made some poor assumptions, but you were not
trolling me as Tattoo was who was not speaking of the article I wrote but
belittling me as a person. You will not see me putting you down for
responding to my post there - in fact, thank you. Good to see you engage in
such a discussion even if we do not agree.
If you read my article you will see where I ended by asking for ideas on how
what I describe could be handled better. Your basic answer, it seems, is
just to say it is too hard (or whatever) and to just give up. This is how
some people felt when networks were being standardized or printing systems
were, etc. But I have faith in people and in the open source community... I
think they can find solutions to problems, even hard ones. I do not share
your idea that since the problem is hard we should just give up.
