Das geht los bei der schleichenden Ablösung der Unix Systeme hin zum relativ einheitlichen Pinguin Unix. Und auch die Maschinen sind recht interessant, sowas wie der Apple Supercluster (der letztlich mit zur Entstehung der Apple XServe beigetragen hat) oder die dicke SGI Maschine mit den vielen 2100er (Name fällt mir gerade leider nicht ein) oder die Sun E10000 (v.a. für "Commerce") usf.
