It does not matter. It can also be a work colleague. For the purpose of 
this thread, someone for which you only have an email (or more than one) 
email addresses, and who has your email, and whose mail account has been 
hacked.

Correct.

Indeed. So I use a different password for each site, stored in a 
password manager, protected with a long password, memorized.

If you want to login to such a site on the phone, it becomes a problem, 
because you have to type on a tiny keyboard a difficult password.

Huh, and some web sites make it difficult to use password managers, they 
try to enforce manual typing.
