Sometimes choosing a login is not permitted. Sometimes sites force you
to use your email as login. Or sometimes they force you to use (Spain)

Happened to me yesterday: I was using a chosen login to enter my
electricity supplier site, but suddenly they changed to using our
national ID number. Login with my credentials of 10 years failed. I
tried password recovery, but still login failed. It took me some time to
find out they were using my ID number.
