As I noted, if you take > this to an extreme you can get an R^2 value that is 1.0 or very close on > *any* data set. > Again, you are completely wrong. For example, in your original dataset it is impossible to plot a trendline against it and get a 1.0. I used all the original data points. So the R^2 value is generated from those points. Unless they happen to be in a straight line, you won't get a 1.0. You still think that these data points are manipulated or removed and then this updated data is used to get the R^2 value. That is just not true. I used all the same data points you did, no manipulation, no removal, in calculating the R^2 value. Also, you seriously misunderstood what I was saying about my R^2 value. It was not all that high on it's own. It was just incredibly better than yours. Once again, we both calculated (okay Excel actually did it for us) the R^2 value against the same data points. I've explained all this before, yet you still repeat the same blatantly incorrect bullshit. -- <http://tmp.gallopinginsanity.com/LinearTrendLineCreation.mov> - Snit's ignorance of Excel and his hilarious attempt at statistical analysis
