Got it. Bottom line: you do not know. > I will move on to the other areas of Snit's dumbness as soon as you two > understand the basics of what was wrong with his original argument. And now you start spewing insults and accusations - even though, above, you make it clear you are clueless on the stats topics we are discussing. > You both seem to think that comparing the R^2 value for a trendline on one > dataset to another R^2 value for a trendline on a *different* dataset is > somehow a valid operation. Not I! So while I will not speak for others, I will note that what "seems" to the case for you is *not* the case. I did note how you were worshiping the God of R^2 values... bragging so heavily about how high you could get yours... by weighting data in a way that will *always* give you a higher R^2 value. As I noted, if you take this to an extreme you can get an R^2 value that is 1.0 or very close on *any* data set. And below, again, you go on about what "seems" to be the case to you - but it has already been established that what "seems" to be the case to you is not based on reality. You also put down my video - showing you did not even get the point of it! It was not about outliers and anomalies but about a straightforward process in Excel! And you claimed - incorrectly - that I missed steps. Again, you were wrong. But, still, you pretend to be knowledgeable on these things so at the bottom of this post I will ask you some questions. > Neither of you seem to understand why anomalies are important, how they may > legitmately occur, and why not dealing with them will result in incorrect > analysis (see Snit's video). Oh, you keep presenting yourself as being some sort of expert on these things - finding flaws in the process MS and Apple and others say is the correct one, etc. But when asked questions you just run... or make up stories about people. But the questions for you remain: 1) For a normal distribution, how can you visually tell if the sigma lines are drawn correctly? 2) For question 1, can this placement be based on the distance from the mean to any other element on the curve - and if so, what element? 3) Given this data: <http://goo.gl/NhFuK>, does this show a steady rate, an increase, or a decrease for the second half of 2011? Of course, there are more questions for you, noted in my .sig, but let's just start with those 3. I really would love to learn from you! Oh, you are so very knowledgeable! -- The indisputable facts about that absurd debate: <http://goo.gl/2337P> cc being proved wrong about his stats BS: <http://goo.gl/1aYrP> 7 simple questions cc will *never* answer: <http://goo.gl/cNBzu> cc again pretends to be knowledgeable about things he is clueless about.
