Wake-boarding stems from Lake Tahoe in Nevada. But Nevada is way south of Germany, hence also the water is much warmer on average than German lakes. For water sports like wake-boarding, which throw you frequently into the water, you need warmer water than German lakes can provide. German lakes are usuable for such sport only for a few month in summer. But in this case you need more years, if there are only say three month a year available. The other problem was the access to tug-boats in post war Germany (WW I, of course) and to enough gasoline. Sure, a few super-rich could afford everything. But Eva Braun's family wasn't particularily rich. TH
