If you place a Tic Tac on a sheet of glass, 
with a picture of clouds behind the glass, and 
then flick the Tic Tac so it slides across the surface, 
how fast is the Tic Tac moving when measured against the clouds in the
background?

Relative speaking

like an airplane flying in the sky with the Moon in the
background...pretty fast!


Tic Tac simply  appears to move fast against moving clouds in the
background...


relative motion

you can do it with your finger and the moon..

how about an ocean in the background?

takes me two seconds from New York to Paris.
