It is illogic to assume, that a pilot could actually film the content of 
the head-up display in front of him.

To do this, he had to have a film-camera of the era (most likely 16mm 
film), which would be quite bulky and would not fit into the cockpit, 
while flying a jet.

Also the film would look VERY different than what is shown in that video.

For instance numbers and angles on that head-up display would change, if 
the pilot flies a turn. Also the entire picture would shake a little and 
the item would not remain in the exact center.

It is therefore a VERY primitive montage and consists of a layer with a 
(fake) head-up display, a dark spot and a film of clouds.
