Lots of the adminstrators soldiered on, feeling that they had duty to the country to try to limit the damage done by an inept administration. The second Trump administration went out of it's way to put Trump supporters in as many positions as possible. Competence was desirable, but was only a secondary consideration. Being competent enough to realise that Trump is an ignorant air-head was fatal. -- Bill Sloman, Sydhey
