Genau, damit ist die Geschwindigkeit _relativ zur Plattform_ definiert.

Selbstverständlich, die Laufzeit zwischen M1>M2 und M2>M1 ist 
sinnvollerweise gleich.
Schliesslich soll der Gang der U2 ja für die Strecken M1>M2 und M2>M1 
verglichen werden.
Das geht am einfachsten wenn die Laufzeit der U2 auf diesen Strecken 
gleich ist.

Nö, der verschiedene Gang ist Sache der U2.

Jetzt bist du an der Reihe nachzudenken woher dieser unterschiedliche 
Gang der U2 kommt.
