The more recent iMac models can't be opened with just suction cups.
They're glued together and require a lot of work to open up and put
back together. iFixIt gave the just released iMacs a fixability score
of just 1 out of 10.

The recent laptop models aren't much better either.

It's best left to the experts at an authorised repair centre if still
under warranty / AppleCare (and probably even if out of warranty) ...
at least if they screw it up they have to replace it for free.
