That was an error.
Unfortunately the migration/install process can take veeeery long
sometimes without updating the status bar.
Once I migrated a MacBook for a client (don´t remember if it was an
"Air" or a "Pro").
Started the migration around 4 pm. Went smooth at first but seemed to
stop with "one minute remaining".
I just let it run over night.
Wasn´t ready in the morning.
Let it run.
Finished without problems around noon.

I´ve heard that if you have lots of stuff in "usr/local" this can
happen. (No Idea why and don´t know whether that is only a problem when
migrating or if that happens with an update too)

So if I ever migrate/update something I make sure to wait at least a
whole day before interrupting the process.

Sorry, not much help for you now but maybe it helps someone else in the
future.
