I'd like to see two more things.  Before installing, I'd like to be able 
to go to the Apple site to see a list of the processes and the time 
range for each, along with the median.  I imagine this data could be 
gathered from beta installations.

At the start of the installation, I'd like to see an estimate of the 
time for each process, based on the size of the pertinent files on my 
disk.  Then I'd have a better idea of how long it would take.  If then 
the installer kept me informed of the current process, I could better 
assume that the installation was progressing even if the progress bar 
didn't seem to have moved since my last check.
