I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if that drop was from a
significant height and with sufficient force, there may be more wrong
with it than just the hard drive itself. Can you tell where the computer
hit the ground? I would expect to see a dent or some other mark.

Probably best to bring it to Apple and let them give it a full checkup
to see what they can find wrong with it.
