Yeah and I can't belive people pay for word processors when I could just draw by hand on paper with a pen. Come to think of it printers must be the biggest scam ever! > I refuse to spend $30 or $40 for software that does nothing except make > the revenue agency's job easier for them. Heck, they should be paying > *me* to file electronically, not the other way around. While electronic filing makes the IRS's job easier (and for folks with relatively simple returns it IS free - the government wants people to do so and provides incentives to make it happen) - the vast majority of the benefit of tax software isn't for the government - it's for you. You have to file whether you use the tax software or not. > Until electronic filing is free, or at least cheaper than 59 cents > (price of postage), I will continue to file on paper. I'm sure you're using your time as you feel is most valuable. -- Plain Bread alone for e-mail, thanks. The rest gets trashed.
