no. what the music industry demanded was drm because they were
terrified of piracy. ultimately, they realized that was not necessary
and allowed apple (and others) to remove drm.

apple chose the single computer model (not just macs) because nearly
everyone had their music library on a single computer. there were too
few users to justify the effort for multiple host syncing, especially
since it's *much* harder to do properly.

however, that doesn't mean it's impossible. simply enable manually
manage music, leaving it to the user to figure out what to copy.
