nedit is a rather powerful editor, it is also especially
good for people from a Windows environment.

But xmeacs and nedit (and maybe vim) seem rather heavy
for viewing files.  But that depends upon what you want
to do while you are viewing data.

As someone suggested, less is good enough for most
cases.
