In the '80s and '90s you bought software in a box and it included manuals. I had a vague memory but I don't think I have the box but https://archive.org/details/mandrake-7.2-power-pack The $2 must be from a garage sale along the way. iirc it was $40. 'Everything You Need!' was a selling point. We've went full circle from the original Slackware, download a bunch of files and write them to a couple of boxes of floppies, good luck, to download an iso, good luck. Documentation is out there someplace. Some organizations might be comfortable paying $1000 or so a year for 24/7 support. That's relatively cheap. RHEL is a little more.
