For people who use lots of 'fancy' software maybe, but the GTK
programs I use see little change and are mostly still GTK1/2. The
few exceptions can be run in Wayland displaying to an X window if
one day they refuse to talk X11 directly. Just like most programs I
use would be running in XWayland if I pointlessly moved to Wayland.

Other people have clearly arrived at very different personal
software choices for Linux, and Wayland might suit them, so they
can have it. My main inconvenience might be if major distros
spitefully stop packaging an X server or fixing bugs in those
packages, but then I can still build it myself (from whichever
fork takes my fancy).

From a packaging point-of-view, Debian's statistics show that
their xorg-xserver package is more popular than ever, so maybe I
shouldn't be worried about that either?
