Yes, that's what I did. The reason I wrote a script to run it in the
first place was to ensure the -n option was always specified. But, as I
said, I've never seen it work. It still deleted groups I wanted to
read. I don't know why -n doesn't work for me; it just doesn't.

Yep, that's what I do too. My script is called fetchnews-get-news. I
have a launcher for it on my desktop so I can run it with a click.
