I'm not really defining that. That idea goes back to the beginning of the OOP paradigm. But, hey, why not just define it here: An object (as it refers to the paradigm of object-orientation, designated primarily for the purpose of re-useable code) embodies these traits: 1. Encapsulation (keeps data and operations attached to a single NAME, becoming the "object") 2. Inheritance (forming a new relationship to the object, either extending it or refining it). Without these two, it isn't OOP. These two are both necessary and sufficient to create an OOP langauge. But hey, would love to see if we can settle this old debate... Mark
