That is fine, if the objective is to write something strictly for your
own use, and you have a *very* good memory, but in that case why post
about it?

I think many people assumed from your posting about it that you were
writing open source intended to be shared with, and modified by, other
programmers. In that case, code clarity and maintainability are
critical, and should be evaluated by anyone reviewing the component.

The problem here is that anyone using your software has to trust you to
offer only the licenses you are entitled to offer. Using software
written by someone who would delete a copyright notice is dangerous,
because it might lead to copyright violations in our applications. How
do the rest of us know that you have not done the same thing with some
other code none of us happen to recognize?
