These are the commands:

Start and stay in terminal:
$CATALINA_HOME/bin/catalina.sh run

Start and don't stay in terminal:
$CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.sh

Stop:
$CATALINA_HOME/bin/shutdown.sh
