Using the ListDemo.java from the Java Tutorial:

If I add the following line to the 
ListDemo.FireListener.actionPerformed() method the setVisibleRowCount(5) 
is not honored. So I guess if you are changing the font dynamically you 
will have some extra work to perform.

list.setFont(list.getFont().deriveFont(16.0f));
