IMHO that is a false dichotomy, certainly for modern Forth compilers
and probably for all languages since the invention of the instruction
cache.

Very well.

It depends on the implementation. Most experienced Forth programmers
are not great fans of "big" tools, but have toolboxes of small point
tools.
