Not fit over so much as sit on. I do have some of those
but the right sized ones are as shallow as the ceramic
one and the ones that are deep enough are too large.

A ceramic one is just more aesthetically appealing,
easier to chuck in the dishwasher once its eaten,
and since I had at least a dozen more shanks in
the freezer to eat and will be buying more of the
Aldi ones when they show up, and a ceramic dish
of the right size is guaranteed to show up at the
garage sales for $2 or so, no rush.

I use a normal very large manual can opener
that has a handle you twist. Works fine.
