Allegedly tomorrow, quite literally.

Optarse did fuck up very comprehensively indeed. NBNco could never
fine any record of anyone ordering an NBN service for my address.

MyRepublic originally ran the line that they didn’t know what
the phone number for my phone service was, even tho I told
them that when I signed up by phone using their call center,
because they have to know the number to port to their voip
service since there is no POTS service with the NBN, just voip.

Even after I gave them that, again, still NBNco couldn’t see any
order for a phone service for my address, even tho I was calling
them on it since the NBNco number is a 1800 number and I am
clearly getting an adsl2+ service on that line.

I kept being told that it would take some time to happen, and eventually
after being told that about 6 times, chucked a tantrum and got supplied with
the Optarse order number and the number to ring at Optarse Wholesale.

When I rang Optarse Wholesales, the silly cow claimed that she couldn’t
actually order an NBN service for my place, even with the phone number.
There was no way to enter that on the order form. Corse they didn’t bother
to tell anyone about that problem, just raised an incident with NBNco which
is what happens with a fault, not a problem with ordering a service.

NBNco told me that they had a 'back room' group that handled that
sort of problem with ordering a service and that I should tell the RSP
that they needed to use that. I told Optarse Wholesale that at about
1620 in the afternoon and she claimed that everyone had gone home
and that she 'wasn’t trained to do that' and that she would check that
with her senior staff the next day.

When I rang Optarse Wholesale again next day at around midday,
the fuckwit refused to even talk to me and said that he couldn’t
even look up the details of my service for 'privacy' reasons.

I called NBNco again and they then had an order for my service.

Called MyRepublic again, and they now had a record that I would
be getting the cutover from the adsl2+ service to fttn tomorrow
and that I didn’t need to be there, the tech would just be doing
the jumpering in the pillar and it should all work fine after that.

We'll see, tomorrow. Havent noticed anyone doing any work in the
pillars cutting anyone over since my half of town went live on 23-Dec.
Less clear if anyone has got an fttn service yet in my town. I ordered
an fttn service on the day it went live in my half of town and the
modem showed up between Xmas and New Year.

My neighbour's kid also ordered a service with MyRepublic a bit
later than I did and he showed up last night and told me that he
has an appointment date of 5-Feb or something and that
someone has to be there at his place. He has the modem too.

We both should get very close to 100/40, particularly me.
I can damned near spit on the node and the pillar and the
cable is as direct as possible to the pillar from my place.

His is 300' further away, but should still get in the high 90/30s.

Everyone else I know well in town went live on 20-Jan and I
don’t know that any of them have actually ordered the NBN yet.
I was talking to one of them this arvo and he certainly hasn’t yet.

I'll be grovelling towards Mecca first thing tomorrow.
