well the plan i'm on is 'up to 25 mbps' and I'm getting 23.5 mbps, so I 
don't see why 'the modem is crap'. I agree tho, the wifi is not good. I 
can't see any justification tho for spending money on a new modem or 
other equipment when I get 23 mbps on wifi via the ethernet connected 
extender, and the same speed via direct connection, as I said. I do have 
voip via a voip box and that seems to work ok
