Its bullshit and has nothing to do with how cheap the ISP is.

They resell the majors and get the same speed result
that the majors get on the exchange you are on.

There are certainly some exchanges which don't have
enough bandwidth in the link out of the exchange, but the
cheap ISPs don't have their own link out of the exchange.

It isn't much more than the $40 you propose to spend.

Wrong again. If the exchange hasn't got a link with
enough bandwidth, you'll get that with Telstra too.

Certainly $40/month is cheaper than $60, but you
will get a better result with adsl as far as the system
bogging down when lots are using it because
mobile broadband by definition has everyone using
the base you are using, sharing the bandwidth.

Doesn't happen anything like as much with adsl.
