  I beg to differ, strongly.

  'Upgraded' SWMBO's laptop from 8.1 to 10. It's the most basic system
you can imagine, only has Thunderbird as 'extra' (because Microsoft
doesn't include an email client (and WLM is b0rken)).

  Had several problems (touchpad getting reset, websites not working,
updates not getting logged, disk-imaging software not working), which
did not exist before the 'upgrade' and were again gone after the
rollback to 8.1.

  I had to rollback, because these problems involved basic functionality
and I could not risk not being able to fix them, before the 30-day
rollback period expired.

  There is *no* way that I would risk 'upgrading' *my* - much, much,
more 'complex' - system to 10 at this point in time. Maybe, just maybe,
towards the end of the free-upgrade year, but not now.

  FWIW, I've no great love for 8.1. The combination of the new 'Metro'
[1] look and Real Windows (TM) sucks, but if you manage to mostly keep
the 'Metro' crap out of the way, it's not too bad. (But worse than all
its predecessors.)
