Dear Maintainer,

We have a system that uses the n25q256a11 SPI flash device which is not
marked as supported in the 4.9 kernel series.
This is the same problem as I had in deb bug #843650.  In that bug report I
stated that the patch wasn't necessary as it was added upstream in 4.7.
That is incorrect, I'm not sure what I was thinking back then.
It *was* added upstream for 4.12 as seen in commit 835ed7bf12609c [1].
Anyway, we're thinking of using the backported linux-4.9 with Jessie for a
little while, and I'd like to avoid having to keep patching the packages myself.
