Hi Undecided,
Linux is a whole different culture than Windows.
It is highly configurable, is technologically
superior to Windows, and is highly secure
(Fedora is the most secure). That does not mean
it is perfect though. You will have some culture
shock.
And its UI's are now superior to Windows and Mac,
except for gnome, which is too weird to use.
Plus, you can download Live spins of Linux onto a flash
drive and play around with all the different UI to
your heart's content.

It is also good to at least one live USB around to rescue
Windows. I do it at customer sites all the time.
But here is the thing. When choosing an OS,
first choose your software, then find what OS it
runs on. Windows may be junk, but it has won the
application wars. And! Windows can be made
far more reliable if you know how and you will
never get to meet its problems.
Check out Tiny-11. It is awesome and almost as
fast as Linux. Download a browser to flash drive
first as Tiny-11 does not come with a browser.
(Yes, M$ lies their asses off about Edge being
necessary to the functioning of Windows.)
Tiny-11 is Windows 11 without the spying, one drive,
Edge, stupid hardware requirements, preinstall trash,
etc.. And you can put whatever crap you want back on
if you wish.
The worst mistake you can make is making the choice
of OS an emotional/religious decision. Being
a "fanboi" is a stupid decision.
