Running Linux means giving up MS Office (never unless something just as good is available on Linux) and Notepad++ (difficult but not impossible to give up), and maybe a few games. I assume my Canon MG 5220 printer will work under Linux. I don't have any Windows-only hardware (is that even a thing any more?).
