Probably and I can imagine that info to be quite valuable to advertisers.

I noticed it installed itseld in an update to Windows 10 and there 
doesn't seem to be any way to delete it.

I didn't ask for it nor did MS give me an option to install or not. I 
have no need or desire to interact with it so I should have been given 
the option. If Linux wasn't such a steaming pile of useless shit I'd be 
using it instead of Windows.
