opendkim is the major open source C implementation of the DKIM (Domain Keys
Identified Mail) protocol (see RFC 6376).  I believe it is important that it
be in Debian and well maintained, but I am no longer using it, so my ability
to test things and my motivation are not what they were.

The opendkim upstream effort is not dead, but a bit intermittent and slow.
There is a single upstream developer who is quite busy and so loses focus on
this project and then periodically jumps back in.

The project recently moved from Source Forge to GitHub and there is a new Beta
that needs packaging.  I may or may not get that done anytime soon.

Some understanding of DKIM is important to maintaining this package, but I do
not think you need to be a protocol expert.  I am willing to provide advice
and some assistance to a new maintainer (because I think opendkim is
important to be in Debian and well maintained), so you won't be entirely on
your own.
