I need a phone/tablet with good 3G (well, generic 'phone') sensitivity
as I often want to use the phone in places where the signal is fairly
weak.

Are there any phones/tablets known to have particularly good
sensitivity or even ones which allow one to attach an external
antenna?

I'd probably prefer a tablet for the sort of uses I want this for but
a phone would be OK.

Currently I have a Motorola Moto E whose sensitivity seems pretty good
to me and a generic 7" phablet whose sensitivity is very poor. What I
want is a handy device which is as sensitive as the Moto E but is,
hopefully, cheaper and on which I can change the SIM quickly and
easily as I'm often using several different providers in one place in
quick succession.
