"Nowadys I would use the following for gettimeofday() on Windows, which 
is using GetSystemTimePreciseAsFileTime() if compiled for Windows 8 or 
higher and GetSystemTimeAsFileTime() otherwise:"

I used the gettimeofday function.  Works well !
