That's why I asked for advice in oiling the fan spindle. :->

The year 2009 motherboard ATI Radeon HD 4200 has a white DVI & blue VGA.
The Nvidia GeForce 210 has white DVI & blue VGA & HDMI. I'm using the HDMI.

It's an old desktop. If the graphics card died, I'd just drop down to the
motherboard graphics as I don't worse graphics but watch YouTube videos.

The problem really is just the fan needs lubrication.

Because of linux dual boot, I have all the hiberstuff turned off.
Plus it often doesn't recover from sleep so I have that turned off too.

I don't want to sleep. I don't want to hibernate. I want to reboot.
So far nobody knows of any reboot key sequence unfortunately.

Not really. It's like me asking how to get to Austin Texas and the only
thing the computer can do is take me to Reno Nevada instead.

Sure, Reno is nicer than Austin, but that's not what I want.

The three questions I asked were
(1) Is there a "shutdown" or "reboot" keyboard sequence?
    Unfortunately it's looking like the answer is no.
(2) How does the motherboard know which graphics output to use?
    Unfortunately it seems to depend on the motherboard & BIOS.

(3) How do you lubricate a sticking graphics card fan?
    Unfortunately the manual doesn't say how to lubricate the fan.

There is no 'cover' like you see on a lot of pictures on the net.
Probably those four plastic posts, one in each corner, can come out?
There is a dimple in the fan in the center but it's not an oil recess.
Maybe I can just pull the fan straight up and off?
Somehow I have to get the fan off to lubricate the spindle.
